We are excited to welcome Sean King, our new Design Professional, back to Epstein! Sean interned with us last summer. Now, he joins the Illinois Tollway project team within our Architecture department.
Sean just graduated in May from the University of Tennessee (go Vols!), earning a Bachelor of Architecture. Just as impressive, he was the founding father of the universitys Alpha Rho Chi chapter, and was subsequently the chapters first vice president. Sean also studied abroad in Rome for one semester, traveling to 10 different countries while there. One of his favorite activities throughout college, however, was participating in intramurals. He was a 7-time intramural champion: 3x water polo, 2x basketball, 1x flag football and 1x sand volleyball.
He said he decided he wanted to be an architect in the 1st grade when he learned how to spell the word, and started by building forts in his bedroom. That grew into a passion for traveling to big cities and experiencing the sights, sounds, cultures and public spaces they had to offer. He also has always viewed architecture as the perfect balance between art and math, two subjects he continuously thrived in.
Sean was born and raised in Kingsport, Tennessee, went to Dobyns-Bennett High School, where he played trombone in the schools 400 member marching band.
His favorite things to do outside are work are to watch, play and attend sports hes a huge New Orleans Saints fan. Sean also enjoys experimenting with Photoshop on all kinds of images, trying new restaurants and breweries, watching documentaries and cooking with his fiancé.
What else should the Epstein family know about him? He is a morning person, often finding himself to be one of the first in the office, he is getting married in September (congratulations!), he is a competitive corn hole player, and he runs a secret Instagram account with over 50,000 followers. Were going to need further details on that last one, Sean¦
Once again, welcome to Epstein!
