We are pleased to welcome our new Senior Project Engineer, Pedro Zepeda, P.E.!
Prior to coming to Epstein, he worked for Valdes Engineering Company, a consulting engineering firm, focusing primarily on power plant and refinery electrical projects. Before Valdes, Pedro worked and lived in the northern Virginia area for roughly five years. During that stint, he was at McDean, a design-build and systems integration corporation, and worked on the design and build of a new hospital for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) located in Fort Hood, Texas.
It was a very unique experience for me because it was the first hospital project I had worked on, Pedro said of his favorite assignment. After the design was complete, I had an appreciation for all the design criteria and requirements that must be complied when designing a hospital across all engineering disciplines.
Besides working on a major hospital, Pedros additional project experience includes power plants and data centers.
Pedro attended the University of Illinois at Chicago (go Flames!), where he received a Bachelors of Science degree in electrical engineering.
He was born and raised on the northwest side of Chicago, think Belmont Cragin area, and went to Taft High School (go Eagles!). He currently lives in Northlake.
Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, having visited Italy, France, Mexico, St. Lucia, Barbados, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. He also loves to grill for his family and friends. Pedro, that extends to your Epstein family, yes? His favorite meal to fire up on the grill is Arrachera (skirt steak) marinated with beer and raw onions. Yes, please.
Pedro also likes to play and watch sports, particularly basketball, baseball and football. He is a Cubs fan, but says he will support the White Sox when they are not up against his Cubbies. Favorite Cub of all-time? Ryne Sandberg. And hes a big supporter of NFL Sundays, fantasy football and, of course, dominating those fantasy leagues.
Pedro is the youngest of seven five sisters and one brother! He has been married to his beautiful wife for 10 years. Together, they have a 5-year-old daughter, Alyssa, and a 2-year-old son, Abram. They love to bike ride as a family and take daily strolls to the park.
Welcome again, Pedro, we are excited you have decided to bring your talents to Epstein!
