We are pleased to welcome Maleno Quintero, our new Design Professional joining the Architecture Group!
He recently graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology (go Scarlet Hawks!), earning his Professional Bachelors in Architecture. While there, Maleno participated in photography, collage making, and was also a member of U.S.A. (Undocumented Students and Allies) and Arquitectos, a young Latino architecture-based organization.
For Maleno, architecture has always been a passion of his; in fact, he couldnt see himself in any other industry. The high school I attended was part of the STEM program, and they offered drafting and auto cad classes. I signed up for all of them every year.
Maleno is originally from Celaya Guanajuato, Mexico. Although, he came to the states when he was 4-years-old and has called Chicago home ever since. He grew up in the lower Westside neighborhood of Pilsen. He attended Chicago Public Schools from elementary to high school, then community college at Harold Washington (eventually transferring to Illinois Tech).
Outside of work, Maleno continues with his love of photography, which he said has always been a hobby for him. He also stuck with the collage making after school!
Before joining Epstein, and while in architecture school for 5 years, Maleno interned at Ross Barney Architects during the summer of 2015. Before returning to school at Illinois Tech, he was a full-time employee within Congressman Luis Gutiérrez 4th Congressional District Office in Chicago, where he helped constituents with federal issues as well as any immigration case that fell in his district.
Helping people of my community while working as congressional aide was very rewarding, Maleno said.
Once again, welcome to Epstein, Maleno, were excited to have you join us!
