We are pleased to welcome Joe Nelson, our new Project Engineer, to Epstein’s Mechanical Engineering department! Prior to joining us, Joe was with McGuire Engineers, where he worked on a range of projects, including office space and retail. He has also previous engineering experience in the healthcare and education sectors. Before becoming an engineer, Joe worked for a mechanical contractor, affording him the opportunity to be involved in multiple sides of the industry.
Joe grew up and went to high school in Genesco, IL. He then went to Iowa State University to study mechanical engineering. While there, he was a member of the student American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) chapter.
Joe was originally drawn to HVAC engineering because he enjoys working in differing building types, and how those systems fit into the architecture. “Being able to walk into a nice space and seeing your work installed can be very rewarding,” he says.
He has three young children, with the oldest just recently turning three, so, needless to say, fatherhood occupies much of his time outside of work. However, when he does find a free minute, he enjoys cooking, making cocktails, playing board games, and engaging in crossword puzzles.
Joe would like his new Epstein family to know he is very excited to be a part of the team. We feel the same, Joe! Once again, welcome to Epstein.
