We are pleased to welcome Jay Caton, our new Field Manager, to Epstein’s DesignBuild group! Since joining, Jay has worked at Wholestone in Fremont and is currently working on the Jushi Lakeville Cultivation project. Prior to coming to Epstein, Jay worked at Butters Construction & Development, a rest estate company based in Coconut Creek, Florida.
Jay got his start in the trades at just 10-years-old by working in an antique shop, repairing antiques and carousel horses and animals. He is from Carlsbad, California, a surf city near San Diego, and attended the local high school. He earned his Journeyman’s cards in both the Carpenters/Joiners Unions as well as the Roofers Union. Jay also taught carpentry in the carpenter’s apprenticeship program.
Jay loves the ocean. When he gets a chance, he enjoys going free diving, surfing and bodysurfing. Based off that, this next bit will sound just right. Jay has lived in Kauai, Hawaii, his “spiritual home,” Carlsbad, his ancestral home, and Boca Raton, Florida, his current home. He is very political, though not at work, and never shies away from a good political debate, so long as it is based in fact. Jay also loves to cook, and even prepares nearly everything from scratch.
What else should we know about Jay? He decided to come to Epstein because he loves the culture here and was impressed with Epstein’s commitment to supporting diversity, women in leadership positions and the LGBTQ community.
We’re glad you’re here too, Jay! Once again, welcome to Epstein.
