We are pleased to welcome Jason Chochola to Epstein - the newest member of our project management team.
Jason is an alum of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (Go Illini!) and Columbia University (Go Lions!), with a BS Arch and a MArch respectively. Jason comes to us having spent a decade at Bauer Latoza Studio and Farr Associates, and also brings a total of 16 years' experience involving the design, construction administration and project management of a wide range of project types, including various scales of residential, educational, hospitality, warehouse, and retail.
Some of Jason's more well-known past projects include; the Lane Tech High School Renovation (a major capital endeavor which is still ongoing); The Charles H Shaw Technology and Learning Center Charter High School, which was repurposed from the historic Sears Powerhouse Building in Homan Square, and Hyatt Regency Chicago Renovation, which involved modernizing a hotel that Epstein actually designed in the early 70s.
Jason is a lifelong Chicago area resident (minus time studying in France and Manhattan), and is now a denizen of Logan Square with his wife of ten years, Moira (a teacher in Pilsen), daughter Molly (8) and son Connell (5). Jason enjoys wasting hours watching sports, particularly the White Sox and Blackhawks. He is honored and horrified to have attended the ONE game the Sox lost in the 2005 Sox World Series Championship run. (Jason we think that officially makes you a jinx. All Sox fans plead with you not to show-up the next time the Pale Hose make it to the playoffs!)
When not spending time watching Sports, Jason enjoys taking in any number of live concerts and then 'weakly' (his own adjective) imitating those performances at home on guitar. Also, Jason just took a trip to Colorado with Molly for her first ski trip. Here's a photo from that adventure showing Jason and Colorado's Yampa Valley in the background.
