We are pleased to welcome Elliot Gentry, our new Assistant Field Manager, to Epstein’s DesignBuild department! Prior to joining us, Elliot was primarily working on an 18-story office building in Fulton Market for Focus Construction.
Elliot grew up on the far south side of Chicago and attended Brother Rice High School. He then went to the University of Illinois Chicago, where he received his Bachelor’s in civil engineering. Other than school, it was mostly just work for him. Although, he was an active member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.
Elliot has always had an affinity for construction and enjoyed physics in high school, which led him down the path of civil engineering. While in college, he interned for a large general contractor and was able to work on a 62-story high-rise in Chicago. “While working on this project, I knew that I wanted to work in the field and pursued the path towards becoming a superintendent.”
Outside of work, he enjoys running and averages about 10 miles per week! Making us feel not poorly about ourselves whatsoever, Elliot has also completed seven marathons and participates in obstacles course races. As of late, he has gotten very into LEGOs and enjoys building the more complex technic sets with his three boys. Additional hobbies include remodeling work, gardening, hiking, soccer and bike riding.
He and his wife, Johanna, have been married for 10 years and their three sons are ages 8, 6, and 4. They keep Elliot and Johanna very busy!
Elliot would like his Epstein family to know he is a team player and loves to collaborate on issues presented over the course of the project. He is also eager to gain valuable experience and contribute to the team.
Sounds like a plan to us, Elliot! We’re delighted to have you join us.
