We are excited to welcome our newest Project Manager, Carmen Brown, to Epstein! In addition to her project management role, she will also be working with our Industrial Process Engineering group as a process engineer.
Prior to joining Epstein, Carmen worked at Modern Process Equipment Corporation, managing turnkey engineering design projects in the food and beverage, specifically coffee, industries. Before that, she was a process design engineer at the Dennis Group, working on a variety of food plant projects.
Carmen went to Ole Miss, also known as the University of Mississippi go Rebels! Although, when she was there, the school didnt have a mascot. Since then, it has been a black bear and is now a land shark. She received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering. While there, she was an active member and vice president for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).
Of what steered her down this career path, Carmen said, I really, really like food. I chose the consulting route so I could see all of the foods, rather than having to commit to a favorite. Completely fair.
Carmen grew up in Falls Church, Virginia and attended George Mason High School, where she was the captain of the cheerleading squad.
Outside of work, she loves to cook, play board games and recently joined the WWE fan base (World Wrestling Entertainment for those, like me, who would have had to Google). She is also an active member of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and enjoys attending their volunteering events; especially those aimed at getting young girls involved with STEM.
Carmen also loves exploring new pockets of Chicago and gladly welcomes recommendations especially those that offer indoor activities for this time of year since shes still learning how to winter. So no Maggie Daley Park, got it¦
Carmen got married this past June (congratulations!) on a paddlewheel boat in New Orleans. Her husband and her share a charismatic, overweight lab/beagle mix named Honey Boo Boo. Photos of Honey Boo Boo needed, please. And the boat.
Welcome, Carmen! Were thrilled to have you join Epstein!
