We are pleased to welcome Bill Shelby, our new Senior Construction Manager, back to Epstein! This is Bills second tour of duty with Epstein. He was previously with us from 2008 to 2010, working within the Construction Department. They are surely thrilled to have you back, Bill!
Prior to returning, Bill spent time working on numerous projects for general contractors in the Chicago area. Specifically, he spent 10 years with Novak Construction and time with Poulos Brothers Construction, Dillon Enterprise and Klein Construction. Additionally, during his first stint with Epstein, Bill sat for and passed the Illinois bar exam. Upon leaving, he immediately went to work as an attorney practicing construction law.
Throughout the last 10 years, he has taught Construction Management, Construction Law and Business Law at a local college during the evenings. He continues to mentor his former students.
Bill has attended three universities. Here it goes: He received his Bachelor of Science from Bradley University (go Braves!) in construction engineering; his Master of Business Administration from Lewis University (go Flyers!); and his Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School (sadly, no mascot, so, go, Bill!).
He said he was led to the construction industry because his father was a jack-of-all-trades who built his own house while Bill was in grade school. I think that I became interested in the construction process at that time. That interest remains strong, as demonstrated by Bill taking on the remodeling of his 1955 ranch-style house.
Outside of work, Bill enjoys fishing, hunting and taking weekend trips to both Wisconsin and Michigan. He also likes to frequent estate sales and antique shops!
Bill has been playing the drums since he was in 4th grade. He also has been playing competitive baseball since he was 7-years-old, which totals to about 53 years now! Hes a Cubs fan, for those wondering. He is also a life-long Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks fan.
Most importantly, however, Bill has two golden retrievers, Cody and Cal, who greet him at the door every night when he arrives home from work! Bill, photos?!
We are excited to welcome you back, Bill!
