We would like to welcome Ben Nelson, our new construction project manager, to Epstein. Bens first assignment at Epstein will be managing the $240M, 650,000 sf Prestage Farms New Pork Processing Plant in Eagle Grove, Iowa.
Ben graduated from Purdue University (Boiler Up!) with a degree in Civil Engineering and he has 16+ years of experience in all facets of construction, including industrial, high-rise residential, aviation and commercial projects. In addition, Ben is an experienced engineer, construction professional and problem solver with firm understanding in civil / site design and engineering; underground utilities; earth excavation and mass grading; concrete reprocessing and construction management. Ben has been involved in all phases of project construction from land acquisition, planning and design, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, project delivery and project close out.
Before joining Epstein Ben worked as a project manager for Clune Construction Company, Daccord Group, LLC, Midwest REM Enterprises, Inc. and Orbiu Architecture and Consultants.
Ben lives in St. Charles and enjoys spending time with his wonderful kids, Lila (9) and Oscar (7). He is also an avid White Sox fan. (Ben, as an Indians fan, this is going to be a particularly hard year for the two of us. So, lets agree to not mention the Cubs to one another all season, deal?)
And, lastly, heres an interesting side note about Ben, hes a second generation Epsteiner. His father, Walter Nelson, worked at Epstein as a design project manager in the early 2000s. Walter even worked on the design of the Triumph Foods Pork Processing Plant in St. Joseph, Missouri. Looks like pork runs in the Nelson family!
Once again, Ben, welcome to Epstein.
