We are delighted to welcome Arturo Pereda, P.E., our new Senior Design Engineer, to Epsteins Structural Engineering department! Arturo was actually referred to Epstein by Andy Valinskas, one of our Design Engineers. The two met in college and took a couple of classes together.
Prior to joining us, Arturo worked as a structural engineer at Milhouse Engineering & Construction, Inc. He has also worked for the likes of Patrick Engineering and the Canadian National Railway Company.
He grew up in Elgin and moved to Chicago about three years ago. Arturo attended the University of Illinois at Chicago (go Flames!) and received his B.S. in civil engineering. He proceeded to stay with UIC to earn his M.S. in civil engineering with a structural emphasis. Throughout undergrad, Arturo was a math tutor for elementary Chicago Public School students. He was also an active member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), the UIC American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the National Society of Collegiate Scholar.
Arturo is a huge soccer fan, and proudly supports the Mexican soccer team, Cruz Azul (Vamos Los Cementeros! Editorial note: Arturo, Noel, Epsteins resident soccer fanatic/clinically certified soccer nutcase, supports your Cruz Azul fandom and is glad you arent a Chivas or, God forbid, Club America fan! He played in high school and college and recently joined a recreational soccer league with his buddies from high school. This comes after about a 4-year hiatus; so hes basically coming out of retirement.
Arturos parents live in Mexico, though he tries to visit them twice a year.
Once again, welcome to Epstein! Were excited to have you join the team.
