We are pleased to welcome Alfonso Tovar, our new Construction Project Manager, to Epstein’s DesignBuild department! Alfonso spent a significant number of years traveling between the U.S. and Canada working on a variety of industrial-type projects, including coal and gas plants. Furthermore, he spent the last year working primarily on commercial projects in Chicago, including a school renovation and the restoration of several government buildings.
Alfonso grew up in Joliet and attended Plainfield High School. He proceeded to attend Iowa State University and earned his degree in mechanical engineering. Alfonso grew up listening to his dad, who was an engineer, discuss work at the dinner table. And, while he enjoyed hearing about his dad’s job, Alfonso realized he was more interested in building than designing something. He enjoys the process of construction from start to finish, collaborating with teams and providing a final product to be proud of.
Outside of work, Alfonso is pretty active. He enjoys practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, going kayaking and dabbling in archery. He is also very devoted to his Catholic faith and is close to his family. Some quick hits: He was born in Mexico and raised in the U.S., he is married and has a stepson, and he is the proud owner of a new beagle named Wrigley.
Once again, welcome to Epstein, Alfonso! We are all looking forward to working with you.
