Adam is our newest Project Manager and he comes to us from NASAs Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, where he worked on a variety of projects on abandoned movie sets on which fake Mars Rover video was shot. (Just teasing want to make sure you all were paying attention!) Seriously, Adam did work at NASA and served as the project management lead of a variety of research facility projects for things like air-breathing propulsion (aeronautics), space propulsion, and power systems. In addition, Adam managed the construction of two new test facilities for the Orion spacecraft. (Orion is the larger crew vehicle to go along with the heavy lift rockets NASA is currently developing).
One of the most interesting NASA projects Adam worked on was when he was asked to Design-Build a Mars Simulation Area to do ground testing for prototype rovers. In the end he built a giant sandbox. (Which proves that everything you ever needed to learn you learned in Kindergarten!) The NASA researchers invited Adam to come to the site later and drive a few rover prototypes via remote control. He said it was fun, but was severely disappointed when he discovered rovers speeds top out around 0.1 mph to conserve power. (Seems like NASAs definitely not the place for Jeff Gordon!)
Adam received his BS in Civil Engineering as well as a BS in Land Surveying & Geomatic Engineering from Purdue University (Go Boilers!). Adams hobbies include biking and fishing, although he sadly never seems to have ample time for either. He also enjoys spending time at a lake cottage in northern Wisconsin and someday he wants to try out ice fishing. (Adam a little advice, layers, lots of layers!)
Lastly, Adam has been married to his wife Valerie for 5 years who is from Milwaukee and a diehard Packers fan. (Were just going to ignore that Adam) They have a two year old daughter named Mila, and are pregnant with our second child due in May. (Mazel Tov!).
Welcome to the family Adam and we cant wait to hear what you think about Interstellar and the Martian!
