One of the trademarks of Epstein is our entrepreneurial spirit and optimistic attitude which results in truly innovative thinking in terms of how projects should be designed, engineered and/or built. For instance, we were founded in 1921 as a structural engineering firm but quickly added architects, civil & MEP engineers and eventually construction professionals to provide more holistic options/solutions for our clients. This full-service concept eventually led to Epstein being a trail blazing firm in the DesignBuild delivery method, one that initially was seen as controversial back in the early 1950s, but has now become a leading project delivery method for facilities across the globe.
Our innovative thinking has also led us to open up offices in non-traditional international locations for a US-based firm, locales like Warsaw, Poland and Bucharest, Romania, where Epstein has played a significant role over the past 50 years in helping deliver significant pieces of commercial and industrial infrastructure across Eastern Europe.
In addition, our unique way of looking at the world has also meant that we have taken chances in terms of what a typical workday looks like by decades ago embracing ½ day Fridays throughout the year or our transition nearly 20 years ago from a management-owned firm to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan – a ownership structure which allows all of our employees a path to influencing/increasing retirement funds.
