Heres our April 2017 construction progress update for one of the largest projects weve ever undertaken as a Design-Builder, the Seaboard Foods - Triumph Foods Pork Processing Plant in Sioux City, Iowa.

What you see here are few aerials of the 245-acre site as well as a collage of exteriors and interiors showing that our construction team is focusing on the start-up of the refrigeration systems as well as completing the foundation slabs for the distribution and equalizer (EQ) spaces.

Our concrete work includes the recent completion of the snap chill and welfare space foundation slabs. The slabs in the EQ spaces will be completed by mid-month, the distribution slabs are scheduled to be finished by end of the month and the pouring of the livestock pen walls continues.

On the equipment side work continues on the sortation mezzanine and there has been substantial installation of the rails in the process and chill areas.

The roofing has been completed in the Waste Water Treatment Plant and holding freezer and the windows have been installed in the office space.

For the MEP systems, all of the air compressors are in place, work continues on the process mechanical and electrical systems, and the power systems for the refrigeration pipes is soon to be begin.

In the non-process spaces, drywall finishing and masonry work continues, painting has started in certain areas, acoustical ceiling tile installation has commenced and floor sealing is ongoing.

Besides the intensive work on Seaboard Foods-Triumph Foods equipment installation and interiors, our construction team also have started the site work for sidewalks and concrete paving on the north side.

Lastly, the 860,000 square foot Seaboard Foods Triumph Foods facility is budgeted at $294M and is scheduled to be completed mid-2017.
