Construction is progressing nicely on Chicagos Riverview Bridge. The caissons have been completed, columns are in, the deck is now being poured and the railings installed.
Our FAA licensed pilot, Dave Hilty, PE, Epstein's Project Manager in Civil Engineering, put our drone to work by capturing the project's latest progress. Watch the video here.
Dave shared the following insight as to the project's current status:
"Chicagos Riverview Bridge now links Clark Park and California Park! Final details are being completed, and the trail should be open by the end of November. Shoreline restoration and landscaping is anticipated for the Spring of 2020," he said.
Continuing, Dave added, "The trail is illuminated, which will provide safe access in the evening. Navigation lighting has been installed on the bridge to guide boaters and kayakers.
Local residents are excited about this project and are looking forward to biking and jogging on this added jewel to Chicagos river walk system!
The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of this year.
