Epstein is joining in on the popular approach to raise awareness for mens health: mustaches.

Growing mustaches is just one of the three aspects of Movember, the month-long campaign sponsored by the Movember Foundation. The foundation is an international organization with the mission to stop men from dying too young by raising awareness for the three biggest health issues affecting males: prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental-health issues.

Along with growing mustaches, the campaign focuses on physically moving by getting men to commit to walk or run 60 miles within the month to spread awareness for the 60 men lost to suicide per hour. Talking is also part of the campaign, which encourages people to have the hard conversations with loved ones over the holidays about their health, how they are doing, and to share what the Movember Foundation is trying to accomplish.

The organization also hosts fundraisers and events to offer support.

Epsteins Charlie Luthanen, Design Engineer, is a two-year Mo-Bro. Last year, his team raised over $30,000 to contribute to the Movember Foundation. This year, they are aiming even higher and hoping to donate over $50,000 between several teams.

My motivation comes from those with us and those who we have lost to cancers that could have been treated, to lost minds that could have been found, and to broken bodies that could have been mended, Charlie said. I strive to help bring awareness to all of these issues this month one word at a time, one day at a time, and one millimeter of hair above my upper lip at a time!

Charlie has raised $561 since 2017. If you would like to donate, please head to Charlies page here.

Now in its 11th year, the Movember Foundation is aiming to reduce premature deaths of young men 25 percent by 2030.

We are extremely proud of Charlie, and challenge the Epstein Family to do at least one of the following three actions in support of Movember:

  • Move
  • Talk
  • Donate

Good luck to those participating, and happy growing!
