Before we delve into the Top 20 portion of our Centennial Year countdown of our Top 100 projects, we thought we’d do a little quick recap/overview of the 80 projects we’ve highlighted so far – beginning with projects 100 through 81.
These projects really show Epstein’s breadth of diversity in project type & location – ranging from large site developments (#100 Lakeshore East) to healthcare (#95 - Michael Reese Research Foundation & #93 - Gottlieb Memorial Hospital) to residential developments (#97 – Landmark Condominiums & #85 – 247 E. Chestnut) to manufacturing facilities (#89 – N. Shure & #83 – Bigelow Rugs) to food processing plants (#88 – Vienna Sausage & #84 – Hillman’s Bakery).
In addition, these 20 projects include some milestone efforts like our first aviation project (#90 – United Air Lines), a building completed over 90 years ago as well as the largest public high-school we’ve ever completed (#94 – Marie Sklodowska Curie) and our highest profile project in Asia (#86 – Grand Cube Osaka).
These projects also cover a wide spectrum of time frames ranging from the United Air Lines project in 1931 to, most recently, Landmark, completed in 2009. The decade with most projects completed from these 20 is the 1960s – which had 6, followed by the 1990’s & 1950s with 4 each.
