Epstein's New DesignBuild Group

We are excited to announce the creation of a new DesignBuild group within Epstein. This group will feature our construction team, industrial project managers and key technical design and engineering staff. We believe combining design and construction to form one team will foster a more collaborative environment, not only with our internal staff, but also with our DesignBuild clients.

Leading this new DesignBuild group will be Randy Tharp, R.A., and Jason Chandler, AIA, LEED AP, who have been named as the Directors. Together, they have nearly 50 years of experience in the design and construction of complex industrial plants, facilities and distribution centers all around the world, covering the food processing, automotive, consumer products, food and grocery distribution, medical products, oil and gas, and refrigerated storage industries.

Epstein was one of the worlds first firms to utilize the DesignBuild delivery method, and this formation of a group dedicated to the design, engineering and construction of critically important buildings for our clients is a natural evolution, said James A. Jirsa, Epsteins Executive Managing Director. Additionally, both Randy and Jason are well-versed in DesignBuild and are ideally suited to lead this critical part of our business far into the future.

Randy Tharp

Randy, who has over 32 years of DesignBuild and general contracting experience, specializes in the development of creative and unique project delivery approaches. As such, he is skilled in producing fast, efficient and high-value industrial facility solutions for Epsteins varied clients. In his nearly 18-year career with Epstein, Randy has served as the Director of Construction, Managing Director of our Bucharest, Romania office and Director of Business Development.

Jason joined Epstein in 2002 with a background in architecture, engineering and construction management, which allows him to see client objectives from multiple angles and lead a team to the right project solutions. During his nearly 17-year tenure with the firm, Jason has served in almost every aspect of the project team from architect to design engineer, project manager to construction manager, and site superintendent to principal.

Jason Chandler

For the past eight years, Jason has been our Director of Project Management, where he was responsible for directing Epsteins project managers on all aspects of delivering a high quality project that meets or exceeds clients expectations.

In their new positions, Randy will put an emphasis on industrial business development and preconstruction services, and Jason will concentrate on the project operations side of the present and future DesignBuild work.
