On Wednesday, June 22nd, Epstein's senior project architect, Linda Kanoski, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, served as the Co-Chair for a CREW CHICAGO evening program that discussed Chicago's green roof movement. A capacity crowd of 50 attended this evening program held at The Roof Crop in Chicago's West Loop/Kinzie Industrial Corridor and heard from Molly Meyer, the Founder and CEO of Omni Ecosystems, CEO and Founder of Rooftop Green Works, and Co-Founder and Co-Manager of The Roof Crop. Molly gave an in-depth and informative presentation on green roofs and how they not only provide a 'green' benefit to the built environment, but also can help produce 'green' in the economic sense by serving as an additional source of income.

Among the attendees of this event were fellow Epsteiners Darren Hoppa, NCARB, LEED AP, who is Epstein's principal designer, and Becky Howe, PE, LEED GA, who is a senior design engineer in our civil engineering group. And, here's a great photo of Becky and Darren, who look to be having a deep conversation on the 'green' benefits of IPA's.

Here's a link to an article on the event that appeared in REJournals.com - http://www.rejournals.com/2016/07/01/crew-chicago-members-gather-to-hear-about-the-citys-green-roof-movement/

Lastly, for those of you not familiar with CREW CHICAGO, it's an organization whose mission is to 'positively impact the commercial real estate industry by advancing the power and success of women.' You can learn more about CREW CHCAGO at http://www.crewchicago.org/home.aspx
