Today, March 8th, is International Women’s Day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity; a goal that our architectural, engineering and construction industry has much work to do in order to accomplish true equity and equality.

To understand how much work still needs to be done, a study completed in 2017 showed that 14 percent of the design and engineering profession in the United States is made up of women and a little over 10 percent of the U.S. construction workforce is female.

At Epstein, we have made a concerted effort to increase the number of women in our firm and we’re proud to say that more than 35 percent of our U.S. workforce is female. This is a significant increase over industry standards, but still one that we are constantly striving to strengthen in order to reach true gender parity.
