Thanksgiving, a national holiday, is celebrated on the last Thursday of the month of November. This holiday originated as a way to give thanks and sacrifice for the harvest of the following year and was brought to the United States in the early 1600’s by early settlers in New England. This day was later proclaimed as a day of public thanksgiving and prayer acknowledging gratefulness by George Washington. Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the holiday season in the United States and is celebrated with family, friends and in public (for example, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade).
This Thanksgiving, the D&I group at Epstein would like to take a moment to be thankful for each other and the support of the company as we wrap up our first year of starting the committee, which has provided awareness, celebration and education of people with different backgrounds. We have had the opportunity to increase inclusive behavior and diverse perspectives, which, ultimately, fosters a sense of belonging in the workplace - and for this we are very grateful.
Wishing everyone in our community a safe and harmonious holiday.
