Celebrating a Century

Today is a monumental day for Epstein. 100 years ago, we were founded as a firm, serving as the on-call engineer and architect for Chicago’s Central Manufacturing District. One century later, Epstein has evolved into a global full-service design, engineering and construction company, serving a wide variety of industries and markets.

To celebrate Epstein’s centennial anniversary, a milestone that only a few firms have realized in the history of the AEC industry, Epstein has a number of events and gifts planned over the coming days, weeks and months. Those affairs include an in-house celebration taking place today for our staff as well as an upcoming off-site gala in the fall that will include employees, past and present, along with their significant other, clients, vendors and suppliers, and trusted consultants.

In addition to our celebrations, Epstein has also produced a monograph book to capture the firm’s unique story, honor the important personnel, and showcase its significant accomplishments. This book, “The Epstein Story: Our First 100 Years,” is currently being printed and will soon be gifted to all of our current staff around the globe as well as clients and industry friends. To serve as a compliment to the book, we are also producing a video, which will celebrate the history of Epstein told through the perspective of the Epstein family story, the unique projects of the early days, the growth and development of the firm as it stands today, and a nod to the future.

On our website and social media channels, we will also be continuing our “Celebrating A Century” efforts by counting down Epstein’s Top 100 Projects, the Top 20 of which is currently being voted on by our staff. That series will begin on Monday, July 19^th. The Top 5 projects will be unveiled at our gala. Furthermore, we will also be unveiling additional anniversary-related pieces on our website and social media covering influential staff members, unique contributions Epstein has made to the AEC industry as well as the broad depth of Epstein’s work in a variety of industrial, commercial and civic market sectors.

As you can tell, we are exceptionally proud of our anniversary achievement, a milestone that would not have been attained without our staff, clients, and the incredible leadership of our founder, Abraham Epstein, and his sons, Raymond and Sidney.
