This year Epsteiners Criss Paccione-Anderson, our director of corporate services, and L. Randall (Randy) Buescher, AIA, our director of architecture, are proud to serve as board members for the Chicago branch of the ACE Mentor Program. In addition, Randy is also the Chair of ACE's Design-Build workshop, a 7-week summer course in which ACE students design and build a structure, like a playhouse, for a community in need.

The ACE program, which was founded in 1995, mentors high school students and inspires them to pursue careers in Architecture Construction and Engineering. It's ACE's mission to engage, excite and enlighten high school students to pursue careers in architecture, engineering, and construction through mentoring and to support their continued advancement in the industry.

By working with real professionals, like Criss and Randy, in real work environments, ACE students receive an invaluable hands-on education they learn to understand the day-to-day workings of a business by living it, experiencing it, not merely reading about it.

The ACE Program not only engages sponsors and volunteer mentors to expose students to real-world opportunities, it financially supports each student's continued success through scholarships and grants. Since its founding, ACE has awarded over $14 million in scholarships to promising participants.

Thanks again Criss and Randy for taking these ACE leadership roles and living up to the Epstein mission/vision statements of 'enhancing our communities and improving our world!'
