The Chicago Park District and its partners hosted the 5th Annual Birds, Bikes and Beats event at Big Marsh Park in September, and Epstein's Tim Gustafson, Senior Planner, was in attendance to help collect feedback for the Big Marsh East Side Neighborhood Connectivity Plan.
The free event kicked off with the Mudhen 5k run/1 mike walk around the newly paved track, and led right into the annual Big Marsh BioBlitz citizen science event. This exciting event partners the animal experts and community members together to help search, discover and explore all of the organisms found in park. The celebration also focused on the biking and birding communities with an event full of music, food, dance, bird walks, and free bike demos. This great event helps to advance mobility for the Friends of Big Marsh.
There was plenty of fun to be had in the park enjoying great food, music, and helping plan for better walking and bicycling to the park!
