Epstein was the architect of record, interior designer of record, as well as civil engineer, for the development of S.C. Johnson & Son's Fortaleza Hall & The Commons. Epstein worked in conjunction with Foster + Partners, a London-based design firm, which is led by the world-renown architect Lord Norman Foster.
This new 68,000-square-foot building, which honors the late Chairman Emeritus Sam Johnson, is comprised of Fortaleza Hall, a 20,000-square-foot museum/exhibition center, and The Commons, an employee amenity structure, which includes a 750-employee cafeteria, a bank, company store, concierge service, coffee shop, and fitness center.
