MEP/FP Engineering

Performance-based design, sustainable ideas

Our MEP/FP engineers are comprised of experienced, registered professionals who are recognized experts and authorities in the HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, electrical and building management fields. This group is accustomed to working successfully in a coordinated effort on projects of various sizes and complexity.

Typical projects require careful and comprehensive planning and preliminary design, which will study various impacts, including types of systems, equipment and capacities. The MEP/FP group also performs energy analyses involving programming, budgeting, and determining energy cost reductions without sacrificing the comfort or productivity of clients.

Spotlight

Employee Spotlight: Jay Reddy

Jay joined Epstein in 2013 as a mechanical design engineer. With nearly 10 years of experience in the design of HVAC systems and plumbing design, he is proficient in HVAC system design and performing load calculations and energy analysis. He is also extremely well versed with City of Chicago building codes and International Mechanical codes.

“Prior to joining Epstein, I had never worked on an industrial/process plant; Epstein gave me this huge opportunity. As a newbie, every time I reach out for help I have always been supported,” Jay said.

During his time at Epstein, Jay has become our lead mechanical engineer for nearly all of our industrially focused projects, including new and/or renovated food plants and manufacturing facilities.

“If I look back now, I am glad I did not say no to working on the first pork plant project that came across my desk. Due to that first step, I have been given the opportunity to work on projects such as a vegetable juice plant, sausage and bacon plants, and many more, in addition to working on the commercial projects. This is the best part of working at Epstein.”
